Hi all, I'm looking for a pair of walkie talkies to buy for Christmas presents. They will be for our two daughters aged 4 & 7, so they can be contactable when they go on adventures around the farm. The farm is roughly 500 acres and quite wooded.

Can anyone recommend a make or model that will give us good coverage up to a mile? Looking to spend £30-50.

Thanks, Pup.

Can't recommend specific models. But have used various Motorola and Sony multi-channel radios in the past. Motorola were always robust and frequently waterproof. Good reception but tended to be heavier, in part due to high-end power packs. Sony gave excellent vocal reproduction but weren't so robust.

Yeah will agree with Motorola being robust, I got some for the village Christmas festival, it's held outside and usually lashes it down! They always came back soaking and still work now after 5 years

Thank you everybody for the helpful replies.

Njmusk- thanks for the offer but I'll probably buy a new set of motorolas, as they get recommended 👍

Pup.
