sure is mad if you cant give away softwood, i always offer cash/beer whatever prefferred for any variety of logs that can be gotten and estate i am on currently takes wood chip from anything except diseased/larch as a free tip site.

I have never refused a load of logs or not gone a decent distance to get them, good days and bad days and with that logic i could get ten loads this week and none for a year so got to go for it.

sadly also in scotland or would be offering to work out a deal for all your softwood

Yes it is mad, if you speak to the wood burning stove fitters they are flat out all year round so there r burners going in all the time yet i can give it away!

Doesnt make sense.

I will try some of the biomass companies to see if they want it but im not holding my breath.

Thanks for the replys though guys

I get it. we have an ever increasing mountain of soft wood that we cant give away faster than we generate it. prob is that its arb waste, if we could pull it out in 3m lengths every time then we could punt it easy and every time someone tells me they will take loads they turn up with a small ifor. I also hate waiting for people to turn up late, especially when your giving stuff away for free. we give about 4-6 loads a month or so to the guys who take our chip but the pile still grows and is taking valuable space in our yard. i get it very much so.
