Shame your not nearer Sussex we have some lovely old beams that make beautiful mantles, don't go reclamation you'll pay way over find a sawmill with old beams or fencers with old stock

 

What's your prices on old beams

Just in the process of installing a new stove.Any of you good fellas got any nice chunky pieces of timber to make my new mantle with?.Cheers.

 

 

I have a few English Oak beams, 6"x6", or a few old beams to pick through including some short Oak kingposts that were made in 1889.

Can try to find pics tomorrow. Huddersfield. Ed

Haven't used Copford's but got a quote from them recently for some oak gate posts that was very competitive - would have bought them but we're going brick pillars now
