My hitch climber pulley has seized up...

Hi all,

Well after climbing on a normal Hitch Climber pulley for 18 months or so, I decided to buy another one as I wanted to put one on my strop as well. I brought the Rapide this time, just to see how it compared to my old one.

After 3 months of climbing on it, the pulley is basically seized - there's still a bit of movement but not much, have tried cleaning it but no joy. Anyone else had this problem? Is there some maintenance I'm not aware of I should have been doing, apart from cleaning with soapy water? Is the Rapide more prone to dirt getting in than the normal HC? :confused1::confused1:

Not sure whether to contact DMM, or just buy a new one.

Cheers,

Joe

Well, I tried giving it a good clean and oil as per the user instructions - got it moving, but definitely felt wrong like a bearing had gone or something.

Returned it to the shop I brought it from, they agreed it wasn't right and sent it back to DMM. It took a couple of weeks, but I recieved my brand new replacement in the post today

Many thanks to Lister Wilder in Cirencester and DMM, hopefully this one will be trouble free!
