What happened here?

The branch from the left stem grew into the right stem(Sorry about taking the pic a bit late).

It seems to have been pruned and then occluded. But then it merges into the stem on the right. Did the right stem grow after? Notice how the growth increments from the right stem merge with the branch?

Seen inosculation before (cheers David, had forgotten the term:-)), just not like this. Was wondering how it occurred and quite surprised at the neatness of the graft.
