If you're referring to Neil, the thread originator, he is anything but a "pen pusher" and is probably one of the most knowledgeable people in the biomass world today.

As to all the comments re location - tough! We had to travel over 200 miles to the APF so if your interested in something enough get off your backsides like we normally have to.

The price does seem steep though and it would have been nice to have known about it before the cut off for discounted rate.

No, not referring to any individual Rover, and didn't mean to give that impression. It was meant as a much more general observation (as WRSNI more eloquently presents above!)

I have experienced frustration with 'grand schemes' that purport to provide grants or subsidies to small business, they invariably come with rafts of paperwork, assessments, business cases and the obligatory brigade of compliance and auditing tiers. Actually, it was similarly reported recently on BBC local news - supposed EU development funding never actually reaching the end user. The reality I have experienced is that it's usually best to just crack on and do it yourself rather than acquiesce to some office bound pen pusher getting their beak in.

Location - well that's the privilege of the organiser. Attendance - that's the privilege of the individual. Getting the balance right, that's the cherry on top!

It's just my view, something I would have been interested to attend but given the travel / accom / time / cost, it just doesn't stack up for me.
