Fungi for ident

Hi all,

Found this fungi on and at the base of a willow. Unfortunately it had taken a bit of a battering by the time I got to photo it, and that coupled with my poor photography skills make it hard to see what is what, so was wondering if any keen eyed experts may be able to help me out.

The tree is already leaning at almost 40 degrees and being held up largely by a combination of ivy and a fence, and has a huge cavity in the base, so I think that it isn't long for the world regardless of what we have here, but I need to satisfy my curiosities.

Crikey that's a big ask! Can't even tell if it's gilled or pored, so going by host and colour alone, a wild slightly educated guess would be chicken of the woods

Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app

When 'past it' Laetiporous is said to crumble like hard cheese. Willow seems to be a typical host.

Mark have you any better context images (panned out) to see where this fruit body is in relation to the trunk of the tree?

I agree with the above comments that it looks like Laetiporus sulphureus but if its fruiting (intact) on the floor (ie, off roots) then I would think Meripilus giganteus could be a suspect.
