Jonsered 2150 v Stihl MS260

Yeah I hear you about the throttle response with the Jons; I always found it irritating that saws for the Husq stable had the throttle linkage setup so that the trigger was half pressed before there was any action in the rpm department; Stihl on the other hand always seemed to have lightening linkages and positive acceleration too. One other thing - have both saws had historically the same 2-stroke mix and fuel brand? It's not instructed nowadays but there was a time when removing the muffler for a decoke of the exhaust port and muffler itself was a regular thing... Perhaps the 026 is choked up?

Interesting, I thought it was just me found Husky saws sluggish on initial acceleration. As far as fuel goes, I always mix it up myself, so both saws recieve the same brew at the same time. So far as the exhaust goes, I'd have thought the older (Jonsered) would be more coked as it has far more hours on it. Now wondering if the newer stihl is screwed back to comply with more modern emissions regs?

what gets me about the profesional stihl saws is the fact that the carb is adjusted to its standard settings and the an anti tamper cover is put around each of the jets , my ms361 had them meaning i could not adjust the carb once the saw had beded in which resulted in a trio to my local stihl dealers where they simply took them off for me and tuned my saw . bet you dont get any of that on a jonsered

I think you will find they are on all saws now ,for strict emmisions control.

I wont comment on the ms 260 as ive probably made the point i think its junk enough times on here!
