If you've got logs to feed in then always feed a bit of brash in with them. Forces the log through then. Obviously not huge ones but little bits of a reduction for example they will bounce off the blades.

 

If your unimpressed with it blocking I agree your doing something wrong. I've blocked mine but it's not difficult to get going again!
