How about a pole saw attachment on a Kombi engine?

(but you're not borrowing mine to try it :o)

 

Maybe an Oregon Powersharp bar on a pole saw. That'll be less work and easy to sharpen.

Found this in a customers shed, for cutting concrete etc, diamond tipped!

 

Just need to find a mains socket to plug it in! Still works cut a breeze block wall in the garage to fit a window recently.

That looks like the ideal tool:thumbup1: especially the fact that you,ve cut a breeze block wall with it, so a few stones around the roots wont blunt it.
