No doubt that forestry tyres would be best, but they aren't as good if you do a lot of road work as they are cross ply rather than radial. If you are a tree surgeon you could afford to fit the best non forestry tyre (Kleber IMO), if you are full time in the woods then go for the real mccoy.

 

You can get radial forestry tyres apparently but if you have to ask the price you can't afford them.

 

 

I don't normally do any long road stints only really moving from woodland to woodland. I will look into the klebers IMO tho thanks

I would think they would clog up fairly quickly. But in the righ conditions.

Not bad really seem to self clean pretty well, been mulching on a pretty muddy site for the last fortnight and not had any problems

Thanks for the links: I have to re-tyre all 8 on the forwarder soon; trelleborgs would cost more than the forwarder!

 

I don't envy you Jon , I had always thought that contractors traded in their machines when they need new tyres for that very reason
