Tree Vs Wall

Hi guys, I had a look at a very large Acacia yesterday with a TPO on. 1m diameter at the base.

 

It sits next to a pavement at the side of the road in a front garden. The tree base is about 1m higher than the pavement retained by a brick wall.

 

Over the years the tree has pushed against the wall to the point it is at imminent risk of falling down on someone on the footpath.

 

Is there any option other than suggested removal?

Rebuild the section of wall to account for the base of the tree? Shove a lintel in to bridge over tree.

The problem is the tree and roots now are passed the line of where the wall would go back. Any other ideas?

Could remove that section of wall terminating near the tree both sides and replace with some kind of fenced barier allowing for further growth, solid fence or bound Willow/hazel.

Seems a shame to just remove it! Presumably with it on the side of the road a wall that follows the curve/shape of the tree isn't possible.

 

A strong fence definitely seems a good idea!

I guess they could remove the existing tree and then hire one off you then plant it a bit further away so the wall can stay?
