Hi all,

Just had my 181 repaired, and the bloke put a slightly bigger piston in it to make it now an 85cc saw.

The saw is only used for bigger fells and cross cutting the larger bits I wood that I get,

What's the biggest bar you would put on it? I'm wanting as big as poss without abusing the poor girl, currently got a 28inch on her.

Cheers

Husqvarna only go up to 28" on a 3/8, its not just the power issue, you have to see if the oil pump can cope with a longer bar, the 281 had a large front av spring to cope with longer bars

85cc doesn't sound right, likely a 87cc 288xp top end?

...or just a misunderstanding of what actually was done?

Thanks guys, personally I wouldn't know what it was in their, I'm just going off his instructions!

So without digging further, it's hard to tell at the mo whether it coul take a bigger bar or whether 28 inch is where I should keep it?

Cheers

I'm not too sure tbh. I think it was bought at an auction maybe? Good saw for its age though. The army hadn't used it at all when we got it
