Does anyone use a portable DAB radio that they could recommend?

 

I like the look of this Makita BMR104W DAB/FM Site Radio 18V | Radios | Screwfix.com but by the time you add the battery pack on at around £60 and the charger at £30-£40 it's starting to get expensive!

 

Got no power in my building and would like to use it in the woods as well so it needs to be battery powered

I use my iphone! and G3 works fine iplayer radio!

I have a wee Roberts sports dab that is great. Iven climb with it when there's a test match on!

Got no WiFi or 3G to use my iPhone where I work, plus it would be expensive if I did have 3G on for hours! Should be able to get DAB ok as my old car had a DAB radio and it worked fine round the area I'm in.

 

I'm wanting one to listen to the football mainly if I'm working at weekends Don't like having headphones in, can't hear or get a feel for what's going on around you with them in

Them makita ones are great, I have one but also helps that my drill has the same battery's.

That's the trouble mate I don't have the battery already so adds quite a bit of extra cost on!

I have that exact Makita radio, and it's one of my favourites buys!

 

Well worth the money, it's tough as nails, good quality sound, light and really simple to use! 👍

The wee roberts has a single speaker, but it's not that loud, I usually wear headphones as the ariel has snapped off and it gets better reception with them in!

Roberts DAB solar powered is great. Use it on site all of the time. Loud enough for outside work, charge it up at night and will run for two days without solar. In Summer, find the right spot and will run for free. Not waterproof though so keep it a waterproof bag when it's a bit damp. Would love a waterproof version. Also have snapped the aerial a few times, dropping logs on etc. oops.

Bite the bullet and get the Makita. I got my new one today. The sound quality is brilliant. There's a bloke on eBay doing a deal ATM. Radio and cordless driver for about two hundred quid.
