Sending firewood via a pallet courier

Anyone tried one of the pallet firms to deliver logs on full or half pallets? been looking at the pallet comparison websites but delivery works out at around £100 for a half pallet on a 100mile delivery.

The big firms like certainly wood must get big discounts but still profits must be tight on anything that gets dispatched via courier.

Where's your collection point (approximately)? Should be able to send a pallet in mainland UK for £60 to £75

Normally about £60 we now charge £10 for the labour the film and the pallet. Check what they do if it falls apart on route. Firewood or kindling is a pain to secure.

We regularly send logs and sticks palletised throughout the UK never had a problem. We use pallet ways

Read this last night and didn't have time to reply, but re reading it now the fact that your post says you are using a pallet comparison website is why your price quoted is so high.

 

Enquire at a local haulage firm who are in one of the pallet networks, open an account and you should get the £60 - £70 prices everyone else is quoting for a full pallet uk wide

It was a distance of approx. 110miles I quoted £60-£70 via pallet firm. Will call via the local haulage firms if the customer is keen.
