I've just bought a 550xpg (cos I saw a snowflake today) and it's wearing a 13" Sugi bar.

Had a look for an 8t .325 rim for it if I want to play with the chain speed, and can't find one. Apparently Husqy say they don't make an 8t .325 rim for the 550.

I have a spare 8t rim for my 357 would that fit?

If not could someone point me to where I can get one for the 550?

Cheers homies.

Yes, small spline is small spline! It can say Oregon, Husqvarna or Stihl, it'll still fit. You can also fit the Stihl 3/8 picco on the 550

Eddy, you do talk a load of technobabble! Everyone knows that a spline is what produces bile!

So in short, my 357 is small spline, like the 550, so the sprocket will fit both? Would I be better off whacking the 8t on before setting the auto tune?

Forgive my technical incompetence. I took a lot of knocks to the head as a child.

It doesn't matter when you put it on, the autotune will compensate and retune, hell, I put 7, 8 and 9 tooth rims on my 560, then ported it, autotune just did its job!

Awesome. I'll find what works best for me then. It's gonna be a snedding saw anyway, so I reckon 8t should be about right. 9t would be downright silly.

If I find myself in your neck of the woods I'll expect a go on your 560!

Can't get a 9t for the 550, let me know when you're up near Buxtons next :)

The Husky part number for the small 7-spline .325 rim is 505 30 36-72. They sell them, but for some odd reason don't list them in the IPLs.

The Oregon part number is 11891.

Your 357xp rim will fit if it is a small 7-spline .325 one (357s has been sold with either small or standard (large) 7-spline drums).

Stihl doesn't use the small 7-spline rims and drums - they have their own even smaller size instead, often referred to as mini 7-spline.
