If it's anything like stihls other modern incarnations, I would definitely regret it!

Just because the 460 is an old saw it's still an absolute belter. Best in its class IMO. It really shines on a 20" bar. It will pull a 25 happily enough, but if it were up to me, I'd never run max recommended bar length.

 

That said, I've heard nothing bad about the 461. I don't think it has the mtronic carb either, which is a plus in my eyes,

 

There are a few 460s on the bay, but second hand is always a gamble. If not, ring a few stihl dealers and ask if there's any old stock left!

Hi Wayne. Well spotted, it is. 25" bar and I was still having to come in from either side! I almost bought a 66 out of my own pocket for that job!

 

I'm doing good thanks. I made the APF but must have missed you. I wish I'd camped out now! Definitely going to camp at next years arb show.
