We have 3 manual ivecos and one auto. they are good lorries generally.

The auto is good to drive on the open road, but when you come to pull away from stopped at junction or roundabout when you put your foot down there is a slight delay and then when the auto box changes from 1st to2nd it seems to take an age so you need to leave a bigger gap to pull into.

Also when reversing the throttle is a pain cos it won't go really slowly so you end up jumping backwards, nightmare with the chipper on. Or when hitching up the chipper.

My opinion- wait and buy a manual. They are a lot better for what we do and how we drive them

Ours can be driven as an auto, flick a switch and it changes to semi auto and you have to use what would be the wipers stalk to change up or down but I don't use this much. Ours has no clutch, hence difficulty doing slow manoeuvres, when I have driven auto cars before you can manoeuvre slowly by lightly pushing the brake while it drives on tickover but our lorry does not move on tick over or if you touch the brake. I have tried reving it with my foot on the brake but don't get no drive
