i think thats a bit harsh, the outer layer serves little apart from trying to make us look like some sort of special forces hardnut. moreover how is it going to be blamed for an accident or extent of injury, but hey you might have a point.....the trousers usually come with patches but no thread.

 

the good news is J said she is keen to start up a service and i suggested she join arbtalk as a means of networking. she will probably be doing that this week. i cant make any promises on her behalf.

 

i am sure if you can send off any patches that come with the trousers that will make for a neater and more bs compliant repair!

I may have been a bit rubish at sowing, but I found it a bit of a waste of time and on elasticy type pants like hi flexs wet suit glue was much better. No need even for a patch just glue the two edges together and its stronger than the original, no more nails is also quite good.

in the cold light of day many great ideas fall down when the problem is worth more than the solution. There are some people who will always make a claim after any accident any the biggest players don't lose, so If the pants had been repaired by a 3rd party, unfortunately regardless of the quality, if not approved by the manufacture, that will be where the claim will land.
