and the material and thread used would have to be approved by the manufacture to maintaine CE mark and carry large PI insurance,

i think thats a bit harsh, the outer layer serves little apart from trying to make us look like some sort of special forces hardnut. moreover how is it going to be blamed for an accident or extent of injury, but hey you might have a point.....the trousers usually come with patches but no thread.

the good news is J said she is keen to start up a service and i suggested she join arbtalk as a means of networking. she will probably be doing that this week. i cant make any promises on her behalf.

i am sure if you can send off any patches that come with the trousers that will make for a neater and more bs compliant repair!

i hope it works out for everyone

I assume that's a bit of satire - if not "Really?" & get a life.

I'm ready to send the Lady my (washed) pants.

no, a bit of reality in this 'no win no fee' culture we live in today from some one who know a bit about the construction of chain saw pants, the testing of and regulations around them:001_tt2::001_tt2:

Russ,

in the cold light of day many great ideas fall down when the problem is worth more than the solution. There are some people who will always make a claim after any accident any the biggest players don't lose, so If the pants had been repaired by a 3rd party, unfortunately regardless of the quality, if not approved by the manufacture, that will be where the claim will land.

this is what happens in the real world

cheers
