heres an idea for you,,lovely simple hobbit stools, Ive used yew(seasoned)chestnut and quater sawn oak for the tops, t

Looks good, do they creak much?

they are solid ,,,no movement what so ever,,,,yew is a very hard and dense wood,,,

Yes mate, I have some laid up here for my lathe, but some is big enough for a bit of milling when I get time.

this was some stuff I put aside to turn ,about four yrs old, and the bark just fell off, having been out to colorado earlier this yr, it inspired me to have a go,,pleased with the results,need to make a bar stool next,,,

The stool does look great, I'm tempted to have a bash at one.

That would be fun, I used to turn a lot of stuff, still have the gear, I just seem to be inundated with more pressing things to sort out, but intend to get creative again hence saving wood as I get nice pieces.
