We now have to carry out a risk assessment on our shoot (3500 acres), if I deem it too dodgey to go into woodland I re-arrange the drives to avoid them. I also have to give a scripted brief to the guns and beaters before we start

 

Last year that exact thing happened and one other day was nearly cancelled because of fog.

I was just being light hearted, but unfortunately you are right. We have to do the same.

 

Common sense is no longer allowed to prevail, even when your having a day away from work.

I think it is just as possible as deadwooding every street tree plus every tree that overhangs the highway/footpath.
