That made me laugh! Agree with the ID...

 

There looks to be a bit of horizontal fibre buckling in the last picture too - but doesn't look to be in an area with targets (don't know what's behind the camera mind)

Thank you both.

I thought it was but not experienced enough to be sure.

I can eat it then if i so wish, not sure that I do though.

 

It is my tree in my field, no targets but my geese would be proper upset if it fell on them.
