Well got stuck into the wood heap with the 201t trying to get as much grunt as I could out of it making bar length cuts and it is just about on par with the oldest 200t we have pulling a 14 inch bar when the 201 had a 12". Just been to see my dealer and he said hes got a t540 I can have on demo, hopefully picking it up tomorrow

Thanks for the quick reply, so far I tweaked the 201 by drilling out the h speed screw limiter, muff mod and advanced the timing by shaving a third off the flywheel key (following brad snellings guide on arboristsite)

Throttle response was awsome after that but still seemed guttless full bar length (12" ) in some lime this afternoon

Checked the compression?

Its an 020t also muff modded and liquid gasket on the cylinder and while its a great saw, it can be temperamental on some days (not idling or stalling after making a long cut) but most of the time its great :) just never owned a brand new saw which I think is whats tempting me

:001_rolleyes: And yet you think its worth £250!!!!!!!:laugh1::lol:

Compression seems fine judging by the hanging by the starter method dosent even drop at all :) and what would it be worth then? I dare say that all it needs it minor fine tuning which if I get my little orange screwdriver out at work I get a bollocking and told to get on with my job .....

That can be meaningless in a saw that lightweight. You do not know what your compression is unless you put it under a gauge. If that 201T, after the mods you mentioned, can not pull a 12" picco chain through wood with ease, there's something else wrong. Compression is where to start.
