Wonder how old it really is? If you can't count the rings, you can only estimate. Lots of them seem to be pre-christian but "experts" seem to disagree about the rate of growth when they are young which can change the age estimate by a thousand years or so.

It's a bit of a walk from the car park to the Vale but well worth it; if you fancy the walk to the tumili at the top I've found the left hand track the easiest.

 

The location is about 2-3 miles west of Lavant; definitely make time for it next time your down this way
