Are you pulling fast enough? ive noticed that the newer stihl machines need to be pulled over faster to test for spark than the older machines. I tried a 026 against an 261 pulling them over at the same speed and the spark on the 261 is virtually non existent compared to the big fat spark on the 026.

If there's an earth wire on the coil disconnect it then try pulling it over with the plug earthed against the cylinder. If it's bright daylight you might struggle to see the spark.

If it"s an electronic coil you might have a problem seeing a spark with pulling the recoil, some are very weak it"s a wonder the saws ever start. Try motoring it over with a socket on an adapter in an electric hand drill ( make sure it"s going anti clockwise looking at the flywheel. Also not good to rotate motor without the plug lead connected & plug earthed, or the kill switch in the OFF position ( so as the spark has an outlet through plug or kill switch)
