Still doing these with a standard bar . Going to invest in cannon 14 inch quarter tip . Is this a good idea or should I purchase a dime tip? Is there much of a difference with these two bars ? ImageUploadedByArbtalk1404338618.476936.jpg.f517bc46dc33680051cd289e1a4ae83b.jpg[/img]

I would have a chat with Rob D on here (chainsawbars)

Depends on what saw/saws you have and whether you can get a 1/4 sprocket for it.

You really need at least two saws, one for blocking out and roughing the shapes you want, this could be done with a standard bar. And one for the detail, around 35cc. If you can get a carving sprocket to fit your saw then get a dime tip, if not then the 1/4 tip will run picco and be a big improvement on a standard bar.

Rob will help you make the right choice I'm sure.
