Special Vehicles for Arb Use

Hi,

I've just had this email from DVLA regarding register a chip truck with a hiab as a special vehicle:

*

If you were successful in your application to change the vehicle to the Special Vehicle taxation class DVLA do not apply any restriction to what the vehicle can be used for or a distance restriction.

Obviously, its not the c complete picture, I am now waiting a response from the DVSA, who may have a different view.

Hi Mark,

We chip into a chip trailer on the defender. We are set up as a two vehicle combination. It deals with weight issues a lot better and give us the flexibility I like.

Pick up trucks & such would not be viable for the chip volume on a lot of jobs with the Bandit.

Hi Steve ,

Hope you are well.

We're now up and running with our mog and 9" green mech pto..

Fills the chip box on the mog very quickly so working towards a bigger bespoke chip box.

Also running an LDV with timber wolf 150.

We operate as two separate teams and combine on the larger jobs. (Will post some pics soon)

We're working towards becoming arb assoc. approved contractors but it's going to be a journey (more training etc..)

Love your set up.... The crane looks very practical.

Hope the charity your setting up is going well.

All the best mate,

Timon
