Hi, didn`t know that , neither did the dealer !! even easier then , good stuff. thanks.:blushing:

You need to replace said bolts with the oversize bolts which are stihl part number 1123 664 2405

Just take your bolts out, DONT DRILL out the holes as the above p/n are oversize and self tapping and are made to screw straight into the knackered holes. 5 minute job to fix with the above bolts.

I think we may have a problem there as previous owner has already used an oversize stud in one of the holes so bit knackered tempted to just bond the studs in

Might as well give it a shot. Nothing to lose really.

hi. worth a try, it might would worthwhile finding out what Stihl recommend for repairing their plastic, then you`ll get a better bond, if it doesn`t work, then 10mm x 1.5 helicoil perhaps if there`s enough material in the casing to take it, not seen one in bits.

I`ll be getting one of these studs to take a look at it, although when I gave the part number and they got it up on the screen, but it wasn`t something they stocked or had experience of fitting.

There`s a lot more about this prob online if you google . cheers
