the mf 399 is a good tractor, stay clear of the shuttle or single gear stick boxes, the 3 stick box wont give you any bother,, some can do 40kph, easy to do repairs on,

 

HI RUSTY your right there them SHUTTLE Ones are no good mate 3 stick are good good they are easy to work on and cheap to parts they hold there money well a good one will cost you £10k and more if has a loader great old tractor thanks Jon

what ever loader you fit, make sure it has brackets on the back axle, fill back wheels with water, or add wheel weight, you wont need any more weights, and you wont lift a wheel and need 2 check your under wear,, ha ha

you have a fare weight on back axle, you roughly have 800kilos on the back end you running 34"s or 38"s,

Hi RUSTY just got my mf399 work shop book right rear tyres 18:4/38 75% water each tyres 100gal plus as I'm thinking there 80% so that's 2000lbs plus the cast iron pavt wheels there must 500lbs of cast pavt each side so that's 3000lbs plus now helps to keep back thanks Jon

theres one thing, your mf 399 wont spin in a hurry,,, i wouldnt like to take the wheels of your tractor on me own, if they fell over, you wouldnt pick them up in a hurry, nobody will pinch them in a hurry,,
