Electric chainsaw sharpener

I have a few saws and sharpen them by hand with a file but I have found I now have a rather large pile of old chains that cannot be sharpened by hand due to damage when I have found a nail in a tree etc, the chains could be ground back so I was looking at the electric chainsaw charpenerd on Ebay - what are the thoughts on these?

The only problem with electric files is they heat the tip up so much when you go to sharpen them with a hand file it is the hardest thing and it just blunts your file so you can only sharpen again with the electric one

I disagree they will heat the teeth up ...If you try to take lots in one go.

I have always taken small amounts and never had any problems with sharpening with a file

When we had a processor it was easier to remove chain than climb round with a file. I used to grind hard to case harden the tips to last longer as we would always use a grinder. Electric grinders are almost a must for processors as the bar is held firm and cant cut bananas like a chain saw so teeth need to be even.

If you go,down this rout get a jolly oregon or stihl machine not the Chinese crapp , you need one that can be set for different side and top plate angles if your light with your Grinding there is no problem just need to dress the wheel once in a wile and remember to de bur

Maybe because I did it through my phone it's identical to a portek maxi but made by Clarke 25+ post but like I said make me an offer buddy
