Having been taught to climb by using a ladder then using two ropes and hitches which is how my boss still climbs I have been wanting to advance more and more and try new things.

Anyway got myself a throw line and been practicing as much as I can, what I'm asking is.... say I get a good high shot with my throw line can I haul one of my long ropes over and down, clip a pinto to the eye with my climbing system running through it, haul it up to the top and tie it off round a tree? It's probably a novice question to you lot and I'm prepared to feel silly by asking so be gentle haha! Thanks again guys

Yes, but make sure it's sitting in the crotch correctly, rather than just over a lateral.

Also remember that the effective force on the anchor point will be double what it would be on a normal ddrt system.

Low and slow with a new system mate, always.

Good luck with it, it worked really well for me on certain jobs before I switched to SRT access.

Yeh no chance i am going to take myself too high with my spiderjack just yet, I can control my friction hitches just fine but the spiderjack seems so much more delicate with controlling speed haha !!
