2nd hand Timberwolf chipper

Hello everyone I'm new to this forum so thanks for having me and in advance for any info I gain from being on here!

 

I'm looking at buying a second hand 13/75 Timberwolf which is perfectly adequate for the work I am capable and qualified to do. Has anyone any experience of this machine with knowledge of what I should look for as far as problems. The price is good and I have local dealer that recommended this for what I need and happy to do the servicing and even allow me to trade in against a future upgrade if necessary!

Nearly 100 views and nobody can suggest what to look for in a used chipper?????

Hi, I have used one many moons ago. If you prepare the material right, ie cut it straight to remove the forks, and the blades are sharp, it is a very useful machine, especially for narrow access work.

There are other alternatives in the for sale at Abbeypro ( very reasonable and good machines) and the fantastic Greenmech CS100, more expensive but probably the best of its type build wise, hope this helps.

if you are sure that that is all you need then go for it. Just remember the gravity feed machines massively increase the work you have to do and the vibration feeding branches in doesn't do anyone any good. They are a third of the price and they are about a third as productive. The blades have to be razor sharp so you will be changing them more often. Even the cs100 is reliant on sharp blades. Stretch to hydraulic if you will use it lots, get it on finance and let it pay itself off - the greenmech arborist 130 is a great machine pulls and smashes forks fantastically - covers everything for us.

even gravity feeding garden trimmings is a pain cf hydraulic. i'd never go back!!!!!!

I know of a second hand Cs100 at chipper dealer for sale.

 

Arb 130 is an awesome bit of kit for the entry road tow hydraulic market. However RRP is £10,900 but if you have enough work to justify one it's well worth it.

But suppose that's after been spoilt using roller fed

What budget are you working to or is a space issue for storage
