Roughly What sort of money should i be chargeing to hire out myself and my 60hp 2wd tractor for the day/hourly for things like topping with 5 or 9ft toppers, rolling, 5 and 12 ft chain harrowing, 4 ton tipping trailer work and 4inch chipper chipping, oh and log spliting?

Thanks, william.

Check out the NAAC web site and adjust from there, would be my advice. Can remember what they say, about £30ph?

Will do, thanks, i have just found an ebay listing where they are offering a 24hp john deare and attachments for £240 a day, which is £30 an hour, seems an ok starting point, will do some more research. Thanks.

Just downloaded the naac list of average charges for all sorts of contracting work, very useful, lists man, tractor and trailer at £38 per hour or tractor and operator (100-150hp) at 32 per hour.

Nice to have a guide when working out prices so you know you are not selleing yourself short or pricing yourself out.

Thanks Ty, i am currently changing from being a self employed sub contractor to getting more and more of my own work, so need to get this sort of thing right.

I try to charge out our new John Deere 1026 at 45euros inc vat per hour with a minimum forfeit of 90euros plus 'deplacement' (travel one way)

However, I pay a shed load more in taxes over here.

If your all day on the same site then you can always drop your fee.

Some-times we drive 100km which requires the truck, trailer and tractor now that adds up to serious $$$ just to top a field or split a few logs!

Yes that much travel would add quite a bit to the price! Not realy an option for me with a 30 kph tractor that weighs over 3 tonnes, although if the price is right...

Any and all tractor work is charged at £60 per hour, topping, harrowing, rolling, grading, winching etc. so far haven't come across a customer that has objected to the price and I've got repeat business from everyone

Do you still charge that rate for a whole days worth? If so fair play:thumbup1:
