Tractor flail work?

A good friend of mine is thinking about going freelance, he can't use a mobile let alone a computer so said I'd ask a few opinions, he's got his own gear and for the last decade has been employed to drive a tractor and flail and do very little else but his contracts coming to an end and was questioning going self employed, he's obviously a bit worried but is there much demand for a hired flail and driver?

He's got 5 tractors! He does competitive ploughing at weekends, he's been doing little private stuff for years but only local word of mouth stuff. I think he just wants to start winding down a bit with an easier life

If he's winding down and already has five tractors and word of mouth contacts then he's halfway there.

Trouble is, he's probably been doing it for beer money. You need £40/hour to make a tractor and flail pay. And when you're up against every jumped up little **** with Daddies tractor and Daddies diesel, agricultural work starts to look stupid compared to gardening at £15-20/hour just for a few tools.
