I work there throughout the winter as the company I work for has the contract. My duties include veteran tree management (tip pruning, reductions, retrenchment pruning etc.) Felling (monoliths as standing deadwood) General safety work. Willow pollarding etc etc. Somedays I feel truly blessed to be in such an amazing place, climbing fantastic ancient oaks. Cant be bad......but then I'll turn up at the yard and be sent to Kensington High St, reducing plane trees back to previous.......straight back down to earth!!

Is that with Bill @ The Tree Co? If it is, I've heard that you're not going to have to worry about being sent to Kensington any more .

Great piccy of a gorgeous tree. I don't think Richmond Park is any where near appreciated enough for it's ancient / veteran tree resources.

Aye....The Tree Company.....That'll be it. Yea you right Richmond park is a fantastic place for veteran trees. I think it has 1500 vets there or there abouts. Been doing lots of safety work last month or so. 1 week or so left then back gardens for the summer I reckon.

Shame. Given the choice of beautiful surroundings, interesting work and an opportunity to expand my knowledge, or dealing with local TO's specs, i know which i'd prefer :sneaky2:. I think i'm far from alone in that.

On the plus side..... Nope can't think of one!

So who's gonna fracture prune it, lol?

No fractures that I saw, but just for you Butch, some fine Coronetting carried out at Richmond Park by Seans company from last year.

Would be proud of the work meself :001_smile:

Nowhere near as good a shot as your own, but do you recognise the Oak in the last shot Sean?
