H14 winch

Hi all,

Was using the winch on the Landy to haul some timber up a river bank and the pto clicked out when it reached max load so dipped the clutch and cut stem in half to haul out. However the winch won't pull like it used to now, it's only pulling about half the load it would before but it's not clicking out it just stops turning the out put shaft. Could it be the clutch on the Landy that's slipping or something in the pto box? The clutch pulls the chipper with a full load no probs but once or twice it seemed to have slipped a bit, I suspect it's getting due for a change, but would the winch put much load on the clutch?

Probably the safety cut out on the drop box has shifted on its thred so is cutting in under less load, before I sold mine it would pull a lot less than it should but found the grub screw had fallen out so every time I used it it was getting less as the plate unscrewed itself.

HI WAZ i was talking to super winch the other week IT COULD BE YOUR BALLS GONE OVEL mate or the SAFETY NUT NEEDS TIGHTEN UP AND WHAT GEAR ARE YOU PULLING IN MATE thanks jon

Ok cheers guys, my pto unit is a websters not fairey, can you just set the safety point at full? I'm assuming it will still have a safety margin built in at that? I did try increasing it a bit but didn't make much difference but I was cautious as I didn't want to do any damage.

this has happened to me in the past and ive had 3 h14's. quickest way of fixing this and least time consumimg is put 2 small seams of weld on the clutch affair on the pto. obviously you have maximum pull all the time. the only thing i broke was the key ways which was 10 minutes to fix. hope this helps.
