Husqvarna 280 S 28" Bar?

Good Evening I bought my mate a Huskie 280s off ebay, lovely old saw, a bit of a beast, naff all a/v, the question is will it run a 28" bar? This is the bar I used to have on my 3120xp, but I was told that a 28" is too short for a 3120xp.

It will run it but you may want to check out whether it all matches in respect of whether its 3/8 or .404 chain/bar/sprocket combination.

from experience witha 480cd which is a newer version i tried a 24 inch bar on it and it was pritty useless so put it on a 20 inch and was fine after that
