My Stiga is a 3 way and it's mulching is incredible. So I'd put my vote behind a Stiga, I presume a dedicated mulcher will be even better (especially if the deck is shaped differently)

recommended a john deere but think Im paying for the green tractor lol

Do not be fooled, John Deere mowers are cheaper than you may think. You will not better them for price in a mower of the same quality.

But the Stiga is good too, the Pro 53 is brilliant. Works very well and very well built.

John Deere parts are very reasonably priced

well I didn't know stiga and mountfield same company, looking to weight up pros and cons, price wise with Viking and JD have to buy from local dealer , which might not be forth giving much on price
