It depends on what you think you are worth. Simple as. If you're content with it, fine. If not, you can try and change it, but it can go one of two ways. I'm an employed 2nd climber, 2 years experience. I'm on a similar wage to Will.

I'm still learning, my employer pays for my courses, and kit (for the most part), holiday, and I don't have to look for work.

Do I think I'm worth more? Probably. But I appreciate the experience, enjoy my job, and won't consider myself fully fledged until I have another 3 years under my belt.

Don't get me wrong. I think I'm good enough at my job, and love a challenge, but my boss has shown me loyalty by taking me on with little experience, taking the time to train me, and paid for courses. In return I work hard to earn the company money, and prove that I'm worth my keep.

Money isn't everything to someone getting a foothold in the industry.

im on 65 a day as a cs30,31,38,39 first aid, health and safety, heavy trailer licence at 18 with 2 years experience i think its very reasonable compared to some companies here in NI

Those are refreshing to hear. Good on you two, get that experience under your belt. In answer to the threads question then, look for a couple of young dudes like these two, pay them what you can, and train them up.

Very nice work tree_kid, superbly subtle, I had to look twice.
