You should be given a copy of the assessment criteria to see what is expected but if you want head start you can download them from the NPTC website, hope this helps.

To be quite frank-on my assessment as long as you could handle a chainsaw safely and use it correctly, answer some of the curiculum verbal questions and show reasonable competency re maintenance issues etc there wasnt a problem. I would advise putting 1 1/2- to 2 hrs study during the week on an evening-my 30/31was 4 days instruction and on the 5th day the assesment. The biggest thing to remember is the safety aspect-you could bodge it by non appliance of the chainbrake when moving about or being sloppy etc. Its a really good course and very enjoyable if a little phycically taxing..good luck. I have just qualified. The best thing you can do is read your assessment schedule back to front and make sure you know the answers, especially the health and safety ones also make sure you are familiar with risk assessments. On the practical side of things just do what you have been taught, dont do anything dangerous, take your time and think about what you are doing. Good luck :thumbup:
