an Oak gets by, with a little help from it's friends

.....................well it did until some toe rag decided that nature needed a make over & went and tagged this fine old Oak.

Wasn't entirely sure how we were going to deal with it.

Thought of pressure washer, but tried & found there wasn't really enough pressure.

The guys came up with using a weak solution of water, citrate & lactic acid to gently scoured off the Ink.

All that's really left now are the marks from the scouring, where the Ink & algae has gone.

Hopefully the algae will re-colonise & it should look ok in time.

Was wondering if anyone had any links or experience with other ideas/solutions ?

Could try yoghurt - it's what you use to encourage growth on masonry and I can't see any down sides.

Interesting,

think we used that on some new roof tiles years ago on a refurb of an old bothy complex.

green paint:thumbup:(joke) algae returns pretty fast, everytime i jetwash the patio it needs doing again pretty soon, isn't it a good sign of clean air? or is that lichen?

Yes it does work but for Gawd's sake use the bio stuff and not plain strawberry flavour as someone I know did on their prize stone garden ornaments!
