I use an old climbing rope for small stuff especially coni bashing cause they get all sappy. Bigger stuff just a dual core lowering rope , if it's really big a pulley and the old climbing rope with a redirect to control the decent

That's pretty much what I do. But have been asked for a static rope or suitable rope to compliment a new speedline setup

I have a bog standard 11mm static abseiling line that I use Josh....and yes definetly need static

What sort of weights would you be confident dropping onto that?

I wouldn't be confident shock loading it when i got down to bigger wood if thats what you mean. I would switch to a conventional rigging method by that stage. For rigging out the crown though i'd be happy to go reasonable heavy....really wouldn't want to put a figure on it

Sirius is pretty low stretch. That's what we have as part of the speed line set up
