f you turn up with a 130 to a site clearance or a big beech dismantle you'll get frustrated fast, it's not the fastest chipper but it's certainly capable of small garden jobs which I'm presuming it was intended for by greenmech

Have to disagree with that. Yesterday we dropped 15 mature Limes, a mature sycamore and a scots pine, all 40 - 50ft. Site clearance at Speyside High School. All had to be felled yesterday (change of plan) before the kids came back today and all the heras fencing got in the way.

We chipped all day today, and tomorrow will finish by 11 latest. All with the 13/23.

Not a massive site, I agree, but it certainly demonstrates what you can get out of the machine.

The premise when I bought it was that everything over 5-6" is firewood. You should see the timber fairies come out the woodwork when we start a job up here, but there is a big market for stoves in Moray. So a big beech dismantle is a lot of firewood for us, and the Greenmech can easily cope with the rest.

Yes, I do dream of a Quadchip, but the reality is that we just cant justify it when the little beast we have does so well.

Cheers James.....it was watching your staring role in that you tube vid that made up my mind :laugh1:

Thanks for all your input on this...I,m opting for the Honda engine which is a option they now list.

Cheers Matty :thumbup1:

Your welcome :laugh1::thumbup:

Ours has the briggs and stratton engine but that's mainly as our machine was in stock at the dealers and we wanted it asap.

One thing to think about is that I was told the engine parts for a Honda are more expensive than the Briggs? If this is true I don't know really but it rings true from a perspective of other Briggs / Honda engines on mowers etc.

We have used ours on some fairly large conifer jobs and we have struggled to keep it fed at times so its not slow at all really. Keeping the blades sharp obviously helps, we have turned ours twice since purchase and its still sharp. Although take into consideration we don't use it every day due to our varied work of landscape gardening as well as tree surgery.

I'm just giving op and honest opinion, it's an expensive purchase and theirs no point sugar coating something, as in the slow comment I mean it's slow when two men are feeding it. It's a good machine for what it is

Cheers CJM no worries.....I will have a demo first but watching Kentjames's

one deal with conifer I like it just right for what I want.

As weird as it may sound it might be better hiring one for a day, a new one will chip perfectly and be faultless but a used hire one gives you a better idea of how the machine will perform after it's worn in and had some use

The dealer has organised a morning for me to drop in on a client of his that owns one....(local council I think) so it will be a used machine,

You pay your money you take your chance...two year warranty!!!
