:lol:

I suppose the fact that:

a) we, as a climber are not travelling at very fast (light) speeds (S.R.) and;

b) our mass isn't very dense (G.R)

Then we don't need to worry:biggrin:

Unless we cut our single rope........... (sorry, joke):lol:

I've suddenly rediscovered a love for maths and physics:biggrin:

Heh, if you cut your only rope, you will automatically become lighter because you will expel some weight out of your bottom. But in the context of the overall mess, fairly trivial.

No offence to anyone, that was just a little bit dark.

No jokes about black holes please!l

one point not mentioned here( i think) in favour of srwp is the tie in point, this is generally way stronger and safer than with drt, as you can tie into the highest thinest point you dare and then run the rope lower and tie, ok its not going to be great if it snaps but at least you will still be in the tree.

adam you say you use srwp 100%?? even on small dismantles?

i use both systems

thanks carl

I sure do mate, I couldn't even tell you the last time I used Ddrt to get down from a tree. I even used SRT up a 10/15ft sycamore the other week! I really can't see any disadvantages in the system anymore.. My mind set now is Every tree is an SRT tree :)

It's not way stronger, there is actually very little difference in strength, with the central/main anchor in either system. You can though introduce more points to spread the load.
