Hey y'all!

I'm based in Gothenburg in Sweden, wondering if anyone has any experience with employment out here or know where to look for work.

I'm willing to relocate to anywhere in Sweden and Norway if the works there. Have swedish personal number so all set to go! Can speak basic swedish aswell.

I will have my cs30/31,38,39 stump grinder, chipper, trailer and Hgv licence by then end of April.

Anyone know of any good websites/forums etc to check out or any job opportunities.

Cheers!

Toby

Hi Toby,

I'm up in Kristinehamn (Varmland) there's not many companies at all up here and North where we have been working on the train lines there doesn't seem to be many at all. I think your best bet is to stick around stockholm/ Gothenburg areas. I have head of more jobs going down there, your HGV and trailer will be a big + too. Have you looked on arbjobs? I think there are one or two on there.

Hope this helps, How long have you been here by the way?

Cheers Jack

Cheers jack, there any swedish forums similar to arbtalk or is it just a case of emailing every company out here?

I've been in Sweden for 3 summers working as a kayak instructor in dalarna and doing my arb courses in March. Decided a career change would be fun.

I think it would be easy to find self employed work but I'm trying to avoid that having experienced the tax system there and heard it's even worse owning your own business!

You had any experience of self employment in Sweden? Not sure how common it is.

No Swedish forums that I know of Toby, Think that firing emails out and visiting the ones you can is the best bet. Haha that's ironic, I'm a raft guide in my spare time, used to be full time for quite a while. Need anyone in Dalarna this summer :001_tt2:

Yeah I have heard the same thing but I am looking into self employment at the moment but just as a free lancer rather than starting up on my own. For some reason the Svensk tax office struggles to get there head round that one so waiting on a reply from them.
