you dont work in the rain!!:ohmy: we always work, whatever the weather rain, sleet or snow!!!

I work seven days a week. But I still dont get wet nor does my gear.

Rainy days are pricing days or maintaince days. If it rains all one week you catch up the next.

Thats why I work for myself, so I have a choice :001_smile:

Mate we just get given the job sheet and get on with it besides oak isnt on my list of don't want to climb in the rain apart from not wanting to work in the rain full stop.

I was mostly just being a bit pedantic! BUT, this is a good example of risk assessment being a waste of time in many cases. As the majority of workers are under the same pressure as you "get given worksheet" etc etc, the primary point of the risk assessment gets overlooked, i.e suitable job for the conditions.

I agree that it wasn't the rain or the tree or the deadness of the tree that caused the accident, it was in fact climbign a ladder alone that was the problem.

I was going to get pedantic about the helmet, but someone has mentioned that already and I see another thread on the subject which I've not read yet.

Like everyone else I'm glad he's ok, but climbign a ladder alone is in breach of the most basic safety guidlines, and a sackable offence. HOwever making climbers work in heavy rain (we all get caught out now and then) is not acceptable IMO.

I have been caught out slightly a couple of times, but rarely.

If it is forecast fine in the morning and rainy in the afternoon, I swap jobs around and just do a half day job.

I honestly can only remember once this last year getting caught out and I didn't get wet, it was just a pain trying to clean up the saw dust with the blower, which is one of the other reasons I avoid rain, you can't leave the job spotless :001_smile:

If we didn't work in the rain up here in the shire of aberdeen we wouldn't get much done. The blower works better in the rain coz the stuff goes where you want it to rather than all over the place when it's dry and windy like it is alot up ere.But i'm not sayin i like climbin in the rain tho:thumbdown:
