looking forward to the year

Hi

 

I'm looking forward to this year. Although my main business is gardening and a little driving(school run) I have started spending more time around trees. I'm not expecting to earn much making firewood as it will only be small and part time.

However I'm going to be spending some time in a fairly untouched bluebell wood that's mostly silver birch, just clearing up fallen trees and perhaps a little thinning. I can picture the scene, drinking coffee smelling bluebells ,listening to the birds and looking out over the scottish hills around me.... worth more than money can buy. Also have a few large trees that have fallen in the storms to clear, mainly big beech.

 

However I also have to look into all the paperwork/insurance/tax etc..but thats for the day that it's pizzing down.

Nice,........... then you spank up the saw and all the wildlife fleas to the next valley, you cant smell the flowers any more because you have trampled most of them into the ground and the smell of sweat overpowers it. You don't have time to look at the view, got another three loads to get out.

Them Matty forwards it out with the tractor and trailer leaving muddy ruts to fill with water that WILL be 1 inch deeper than your boot is high:laugh1::laugh1:

then Matty is gone and the birds will chill out and sing their songs. the muddy water will settle and the birds will use it to have a nice wash while smelling the bluebells lol

went for a walk in that wood today and you can see where a tractor has been in before. however its all grown over and looking natural again.

 

Sometimes it's just nice to stop and look and listen...especially in the countryside. Listen hard enough you'll probably hear a chainsaw and then remember why you're there. I bet some of the climbers enjoy a good view.
