Splitting costs/earnings

I have about 4 to 5 acres of mainly native broad leaves to thin, on average about 15" diameter. I will be using my machinery to get it to the processing area where I will cross cut to length, then split (my splitter but not my tractor powering it), bag and move to a holding/seasoning area (away from thieving hands!) 1/4 mile away using the other parties machinery.

I realise the divide in work will not always be as obvious as stated above, but what sort of split in the final sale price seems fair?

(I realise this May be a 'how long is a piece of string' question..............oh and btw I own the timber)

Like you said there is a fair bit to be taken into consideration wit t is piece of string.

So he is providing the tractor and a barn?

Is he providing labour for the splitting and stacking?

Who is paying for the bags

Is he involved with the loading and delivery?

Who is doing (paying for) the advertising?

In order.....

He is providing one tractor and uncovered storage area.........will cover later

Yes shared labour

Vented 1m3 bags are effectively free....left over from another large non timber job

Loading and delivery will be shared.

You don't need to advertise round here!

Good processor sized material commands good prices roadside. One of the firewood guys will tell you what they have had to pay but the last load of Ash I saw changed hands at £45.00/ton

Not thought about doing it that way.......one prob at the mo is no artic access within 1/2mile, but that may change!

Round here you can make that £50/ton. So £25/m3 for the OP. That leaves him £55/m3 to split between them.
