Small air craft engine ? ( fully aerobatic )

High pressures, special carbs and injection, rotaries, etc etc. Somehow I think a rotary engine is gonna be a bit much for saw work.

I'll get back to you on the transfers etc in a bit here, Dekay. I got to go cut some stuff down first.

You could have a 4 stroke that worked upside down by providing it with an efficient oil scavenge pump and a dry sump, with separate oil tank. But power to weight ratio would be bad

Yep, you could make an bum bag oil tank, it would go well with a heated handle

in the winter and prob. weigh less than a L-ion battery!!! We might be onto something, or then again maybe not. Cheers

Wyk, so I am still a little confused; here, "You could also add fingers ports that act as both transfers and boost ports." you seem to be implying that a boost port is not a transfer port, yet above you seem to say that a boost port is an additional transfer port. Also, what are finger ports, which you denote as different to either?

A transfer port is a port that moves mix from the chassis to the combustion chamber. Finger ports and boost ports are transfer ports. Boost ports add fuel to the front of the cylinder and help to move the gases towards the exhaust port. Finger ports are any port that you carve yourself out of the cylinder that are open ports.
