Husky 550 XP oil flow adjustment

Just bought a new one and the oil flow adjuster moves no more than 9-11 o clock as you turn the screw. Is this normal? For a good range of adjustment I would have thought it would have more rotary travel than this.

Stihl chain oil also ok to run through this saw? Was told that I have to stick to XP for the pre mixing for warranty period but happy to put stihl oil through it for bar and chain.

Well started and ran it with the stihl chain oil and it was over oiling like a good in. Cannot turn it down past 11 o clock. So interested if anyone else has any variance on theirs with this screw setting. We have one with 9-3 o clock movement ( many thanks Stubby) any other variations or similarities with mine.

Stihl oil is of course OK if you pick the right one - but I don't really see the point in using it (unless it has to do with the supply situation).

I would use Aspen premix anyway, for fuel.

Took it back today. Compared to three others on display and a 560 and they all had only two positions of adjustment . Maybe a change on the new models?

Baffled so just going to run it.

Get your dealer to phone Husky Technical and confirm . Might be a dodgy batch of adjusters ?
